Ladakh
Kargil
Kargil is one of the two Districts of Ladakh region and is the second largest town of Ladakh and is situated roughly at equal distance(200KM) from Srinagar, Leh , Padum Zanskar and Skardo Baltistan. Kargil has always been an important trade centre in the past. Traders from China, Central Asia and different parts of India used to trade in Tea, Wool, Carpets, Silk and precious stones in olden days and Kargil was known as a historical meeting point.
Leh
Leh is the joint capital and largest city of the region administered by India as a union territory of Ladakh. Leh, located in the Leh district, was also the historical capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, the seat of which was in the Leh Palace, the former residence of the royal family of Ladakh, built in the same style and about the same time as the Potala Palace in Tibet. Leh is at an altitude of 3,524 m (11,562 ft), and is connected via National Highway 1 to Srinagar in the southwest and to Manali in the south via the Leh-Manali Highway.

Nubra
Nubra, also called Dumra, is a historical region of Ladakh, that is currently administered as a subdivision and a tehsil in the Leh district. Its inhabited areas form a tri-armed valley cut by the Nubra and Shyok rivers. Its Tibetan name Dumra means a “valley of flowers”. Demands have been raised and BJP has hinted at creation of Nubra as a new district. Diskit, the headquarters of Nubra, is 120 km north from Leh, the capital of Ladakh.
Drass
Drass
Dras is a town and hill station, near Kargil city in the Kargil district of the union territory of Ladakh in India. It is on the NH 1 between Zoji La pass and Kargil city. A tourist hub for its high altitude trekking routes and tourist sites, it is often called “The Gateway to Ladakh”.
It is a place blessed with immense beauty, with enormous mountains ranges surrounding it from all sides and spectacular sunset views that win your heart. Besides natural beauty, sightseeing in Drass also includes visiting its monasteries & other religious holy sites.
Pangong - Tso
Pangong Tso or Pangong Lake is an endorheic lake spanning eastern Ladakh and West Tibet situated at an elevation of 4,225 m (13,862 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and divided into five sublakes, called Pangong Tso, Tso Nyak, Rum Tso (twin lakes) and Nyak Tso. The lake is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide at its broadest point. All together it covers almost 700 km2. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. It has a land-locked basin separated from the Indus River basin by a small elevated ridge, but is believed to have been part of the latter in prehistoric times.
